Originally consecrated in 1731, St George’s Church is the sixth and final London Church that was designed by English Baroque Architect, Nicholas Hawksmoor. The World Monument Fund of Britain (WMF) has undertaken a programme of restoration work, and Hoare Lea Lighting was asked by WMF, on behalf of St. George’s Church Parochial Church Council, to re-establish a lighting identity for the Grade I listed monument.
The brief was to create a soft lighting impression to enhance the archtitectural features, create a visual identity in keeping with the iconic nature of the building and provide a suitable illumination for churchgoers.
