IALD presents | Patrick Woodroffe’s Design Palooza
Written by acdc on September 17, 2013>
acdc are extremely pleased to welcome Patrick Woodroffe to the London Studio on the 23rd September for the latest in IALD’s Design Palooza events.
Patrick Woodroffe is an internationally recognised lighting designer working in the fields of live music, opera, dance, film, architecture and special events. Over the years he has worked with most of the seminal names in rock music including a 30 year relationship with the Rolling Stones. In film he lit This Is It with Michael Jackson and Martin Scorsese’s Shine A Light.
He has created some important architectural lighting schemes, including the Millennium Dome, the Lake of Dreams in Las Vegas, Highgrove House, Prague Castle, the gardens at the V + A, and Somerset House in London.
Most recently, Patrick lit the Opening and Closing ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic + Paralympics Games.
The IALD Design Palooza is a series of talks intended primarily, but not exclusively, for IALD student members and emerging professionals interested in careers in lighting design. Some of the world’s most inspiring designers will present their work and show that there’s more to lighting than putting circles on drawings. You must RSVP to attend – please contact Emma Cogswell, Associate IALD, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
