acdc welcomes Peter Murray, chairman of NLA and curator of ‘London’s Growing…Up’ to the London Studio as part of the IALD Design Palooza Presents series on the 23rd September
Peter Murray Hon FRIBA FRSA is Chairman of New London Architecture (NLA) London’s Centre for the Built Environment, Founder Director of The London Festival of Architecture and member of the Mayor of London’s Design Advisory Group. He was formerly editor of Building Design newspaper, of The Royal Institute of British Architects Journal and publisher of Blueprint magazine. Through the use of images the talk will look to reflect on his New London Architecture (NLA) ‘London’s Growing… Up!’ exhibition exploring the past, present and future view of London’s skyline as developers focus on building upwards rather than outwards. The London skyline is currently going through a massive change. Over 200 towers are planned in the capital in an attempt to meet the needs of the capital’s growing population. So how will London’s skyline change in the next 20 years
The IALD Design Palooza is a series of talks intended primarily, but not exclusively, for IALD student members and emerging professionals interested in careers in lighting design. Some of the world’s most inspiring designers will present their work and show that there’s more to lighting than putting circles on drawings.
